I'll take your pain, into my hands, i'll crush it down into a tiny grain of sand, then i'll cast it into the ocean, watch it dissapear All that I ask, is that you listen, I'm always waiting patiently through indecision, but mostly I just can't seem to let go. Voices in my head scream out like madness, sadness. I'm standing still, I never waiver, no matter what you think you've done I'll be your savior, take my hand and say hello, I'm standing next to you. I look around, I'm so confused, for a minute thought I finally paid my dues, then I smile and split into, I come apart again. Splitting into parts, pieces scattered on the ground. Splitting into parts, nothing left to hold me down. Weightless as a feather, rooted as an oak. This image is a clear one, it's all mirrors and smoke. Pieces of something hold on to the notion of seperation, they're back together again. Pieces of nothing hold on to the notion of destination. Oh look they've don it again, but it's the journey my friend. Splitting into parts, pieces scattered on the ground. Splitting into parts, nothing left to hold me down. Weightless as a feather, rooted as an oak. This image is a clear one, it's all mirrors and smoke.

Melt With Me 03:51
Melt with me, till we turn to dust, what's the point if we can't slow down the rush? Come around, come around and look me in the eyes. I'm so damn tired of distraction and disguise. Flashing lights all around, don't let them break us apart. Turn the whole world back around and hit restart. So melt with me, till we turn to dust, what's the point if we can't slow down the rush? Filter out the noise and focus on nothing else. The gaze it never wavers, never shakes. Exposed down to the core and you can see my soul, but I've got nothing, nothing left to hide. So melt with me, till we turn to dust, what's the point if we can't slow down the rush?

No Diamonds 03:24
I will never give you diamonds, or bracelets made of gold, but I can give you all the love I've got, through the hot and through the cold. If materials you're after, I could never be your man; but I've got something that I know you really need, and it's better than some ring upon your hand. All I've got to give you, got to give you is my love, is my love, is my love. All I've got to give you, got to give you is my love, is my love, is my love. We could hitch a ride to 'Frisco, walk the city till the dark; Chase the rolling hills, and melt into the sea, there's no fortune needed, to be living free. Cause I won't place my love on credit, with past due balances and fees; I'd rather be a poor man broke and drunk in love, than a rich man pinching pennies full of greed. All I've got to give you, got to give you is my love, is my love, is my love. All I've got to give you, got to give you is my love, is my love, is my love.

Paradox 03:04
Heart beats, i’m walking down the street, smiling at your face and I want to know you But I’m scared, don’t know if i’m prepared, wanna hold on but I know I’ve gotta let go Oooh it’s a paradox, the more i want the less I get and, flat, ooh it’s a paradox, nothing is forever and i’m holding on to air, Ooh, ooh, this paradox of love, Ooh, ooh, it’s tearing me apart Ooh, ooh, just want to hold you Ooh, ooh, just want to steal your… Lock it in a safe, disintegrate, sands of time spare nothing but the change, Embrace, a lover dressed in fate, grab and take and watch it fall apart Ooh, this paradox, the more i think i’ve got it under control Ooh, this paradox, shifting like a dagger in my soul Ooh, ooh, this paradox of love ooh , ooh, it’s tearing me apart Ooh, ooh, just want to know you Ooh, ooh, just want to share your Something inside me is changing. Finally gonna let you be Doesn’t mean I’ll stop trying, loving, waiting patiently But I know it’ll go as fast as it came. Heart sings, flutter like wings, finally found something in nothing, love free Sweet as it can be, difficult and painfully beautiful. Ooh it’s a paradox, the less I want the more I seem to get Ooh it’s a paradox, give without receiving infinite Ooh, ooh, this paradox of love Ooh, ooh, it’s torn me all apart Ooh, ooh, now I can know you Ooh, ooh, i give you all my

Death 03:08
Death come and take me, please don't mistake me for a fool, I'm only passing through, I know that it's a gift I've been given, to be standing here and living, I call myself a man, but I'm just a ticking clock. I've only just begun to know you I've only just begun to find some peace But nothing's ever quite the way it seems Death come and steal away my dreams, Death come and steal away my dreams La la la la lalalalalaa Death come and find me, you won't have to try me, I'll look you in the eyes, your truth with no disguise. I rot, fear and shiver, no arrows in my quiver, surrender to the cold, step into the unknown I've only just begun to hold you, I've only just begun to let you go Let the vultures feast upon my soul A piece of flesh returning to the whole It might not be the first time Old man, tell me have we met before You might be a friend of mine, No matter, no real way to know It's a shame, but I cant find my way home

Endure 02:39
Down on the ground Nowhere to run Blood in your mouth Blood on your hands Blood on your shirt What have you done Can’t recall much of anything Can’t recall your own name Look around but there’s no one What to do and who’s to blame No matter the cost I will endure this Can’t stay down, can’t give up I will endure this Bring me sorrow, bring me pain, I will endure this Whatever comes, I remain I will endure this One step at a time, one step at a time Step out of line, feel a sharp crack on the shoulder Snap back ready to fight Backed into a corner How’s a man s’posed to live All i’ve got left is fight, flight or freeze No matter the cost I will endure this Can’t stay down, can’t give up I will endure this Bring me sorrow, bring me pain, I will endure this Whatever comes, I remain I will endure this

Everyday, I look out of the window, wonder where the time, slips away to. I try to hold on, but the clock keeps on ticking and the moments gone, never to return. Can't hold on to anything for long. Can't hold on to anything at all. Suddenly, I let go and I trust that it's all going to be alright. The less that I fight, the better it is. Suddenly, I realize that this is just a figment of my imagination, and it's passing by. Waste away, knowing that I might be, breathing my last breath, any moment now. It's ok, change is always happening, can't stop the wheel from spinning around. Can't hold on to anything for long. Can't hold on to anything at all.

Tough 01:16

Woke up with a feeling, couldn't seem to shake My mind began to wander, my bones began to ache Something had possesed me, couldn't break free. I could feel the evil, evil coming over me. Evil coming over me. Something evil's coming over me. My hands felt like electric, taking down the sky. I watched the forest burning, then I watched the people die. Then I looked at the water, and I poisoned the sea. I've got a bad bad feeling something evil's taken over me, yeah it's taken over me. Something evil's taken over me. The war machine was churning, and the bellies were all full, and evil made a fortune on bullets, bombs and corn. Then I looked at all the people, and I just couldn't believe. I wasn't the only man standing with an evil standing over me. Oh it's standing over me. Something evil's standing over me.

Plastic God 03:15
I tuned in and they turned up the numbers. (a plastic box in the form of a god) I bled time as they sold me a feeling. (capital gains for a thoughtless mind) Ya and now I sit, no I ain't no use, Staring off into space, wasting my youth. Electric glow of a TV show, doing nothing more then making me grow old Turn off your TV forever, unplug your mind from the screen. Don't let the hypnotist take you, and don't forget how to dream. Oh do you remember now. Consumer thought makes a subtle impression. (We need to buy so that they can sell) No room for a dream or a vision (Think and feel what they want us to know) Well they want us to watch, so that we don't think keep us scared of a terror, that doesn't exist. They want us to buy, and they have us convinced, that it's the only way to live. Turn off your TV forever, unplug your mind from the screen. Don't let the hypnotist take you, and don't forget how to dream. Oh do you remember now. Black mass on the box of light tonight (Worship the glow of remote control) I gave my mind to the man in the picture (He fills it up with an empty lie) I said he's lying to you, and he's lying to me, cause he's nothing more than a frequency. So turn off the box before you kill each other, and let the TV die. Turn off your TV forever, unplug your mind from the screen. Don't let the hypnotist take you, and don't forget how to dream.

Ordinary 02:39
She’s just ordinary, feels love like everybody else, caught up in a dangerous game, doesn’t know what’s pleasure or pain He’s just ordinary, feels love like everybody else, thinks money makes him a man, doesn’t care if it heals or damns Understanding, situations, cannot ever be explained, fascination leads to madness leads to sex and leads to shame, leads you on, thinking you’re the only one, leads you on, thinking what have I become, Just ordinary, want love like everybody else, caught up in a dangerous game, don’t know what’s pleasure or pain Just ordinary, need love like everybody else, reach out like a hungry ghost, don’t know who’s losing the most... Can you imagine, the passion, the toll it must take Your body, your essence, everything is at stake Desperation, elation, suicidal mistakes, All just trying to feel for a moment, all just trying to feel something real All alone, craving satisfaction Broken, home, leaves no other option All alone, twisted love connection Broken bone, steal away your body Just ordinary, need love like anybody else, history of a helpless hand, caught up in the will of man Just ordinary, crave love like everybody else, history of a lonely home, caught up an empty hole

Have you wandered here unknowingly, deciding that you’re part, of the wondrous occupation of the light Harvester of ego, distilling through the mind, bloated and disgracefully obese It’s a pity that you’ve never journeyed inside of yourself, looking here and there for things to please Will you choose the hungry ghosts or jealous gods for your next spin, the choice is up to you my friend No, you have no power here, no matter who you blame, your history is just a drop of rain In an endless flowing ocean, beyond your comprehension, you’d do well to surrender to the waves It’s a pity that you’ve never journeyed past your little world, taking just for taking’s sake When the many headed demons of your simple broken self cut you up into pieces, you’re in hell Oooooh Wake up little child, you’re innocent and carrying, the weight of ageless burdens on your back The wheel keeps on spinning, so take another turn and maybe this life will defeat the past It’s no matter that you’ve never journeyed inside of yourself, an infant (child) cannot run a mile, Yes it’s a comfortable cell, make it heaven, make it hell, the choice is up to you my friend

about

Black and White Ladybug is a creature that feels out of place, stark and naked in a world of color where it strives to find a sense of belonging while embracing it's unique identity. It is funky, sometime somber, sometimes epic, sometimes rude.

These songs were made over a long period of time with a number of musicians from the Central Coast, California music scene. They represent a lot of my personal history, philosophy and style.

Here's a little breakdown of the songs:

1. Mirrors and Smoke:
Toys with the noition that we are an enlightened being which has fragmented into an infinite number of illusions, but the core, awakened self is always present, ready to guide us if we can drop in and listen.

2. Melt With Me:
A call to presence, and the love found there.

3. No Diamonds:
A rejection of love based on materialism and an anthem for sharing true love.

4. Paradox:
Deals with the paradoxical nature of love and desire; that often times the more you want something/someone, the more you push them away.

5. Death:
An acceptance and understanding of my own mortality.

6. Endure:
The story of humanity; pushed to the edge, we endure.

7. Can't Hold On:
A reminder that the only constant is change, and that nothing we grasp can ever be held forever.

8. Tough:
It's just tough.

9. Evil Come Over Me:
An acceptance that we all embody evil, we all pollute, consume, destroy.

10. Plastic God:
Turn off the TV

11. Ordinary:
Written for a series of talks on ethics and philosophy, Ordinary examines the effects of prostitution on those who partake and those who provide.

12. Trump Meets Kali
A loose story about Donald Trump taking the journey outlined in the Tibetan Book of the Dead and meeting the Goddess Kali before ressurection.

Enjoy!
